"There is almost a more seasoned approach to the hooks, drums and certainly the layers they always have intuitively created but knock it out of the park on ‘so fun’... so textured and graspable... like listening to leather and wood and velvet in music form.

‘Toss and turn’ has that pause/triple bass drum hook that I cannot get enough of. So clever man with a chunky pulse that keeps me waiting for that hook again.

Lyrically, as much as I can understand, he has a great talent for emoting universal truth. They are sung from an experienced life it feels to me. At least no one will ever accuses him of writing with a lollipop in your mouth and from anywhere other than your heart and soul.

‘So fun’ is ready for vinyl in my opinion. So much good stuff going on in there... from the layers to the catchy drum beat and accents. Love the simple bass line and the release into the lighter optimism of the chorus “so fun!...” I’m going to listen again right now because I frakking dig it.

Lastly, in addition to their hooky sensibility, seasoned lyrics and layered production, sleeping ghost has such a skill for that tonal delivery that puts you in that opium den place. Love it.
